How is it possible for a waterproof protector to be so breathable?

The secret lies in its composition, it's a sandwich with 100% Tencel fabric on top, an intelligent layer with a polyurethane film in the middle, and 100% Tencel fabric on the bottom.

Layer 1: 100% Tencel fabric (a natural thermoregulatory fiber)

Layer 2: Intelligent layer made from an ultra-thin microporous polyurethane film. It retains liquids (waterproof) and dissipates moisture (breathable) thanks to its micro-pores.

TENCEL: a SUPER fabric…

TENCEL is a fiber of 100% natural origin considered a Super fabric! Soft like silk, strong like polyester, cool like linen, thermoregulating like wool, and more absorbent than cotton. Below, we present the main technical characteristics, properties, and curiosities of this fascinating fabric.

The Tencel fabric is a fiber obtained from the wood pulp of trees like eucalyptus, pine, fir... To extract the fiber, the wood pulp is treated with a non-toxic organic solvent (amine oxide), which dissolves the cellulose and results in a very viscous solution. The solvent is continuously recycled, making it a fiber that can be described as eco-friendly.

Since it is a cellulosic fiber, it absorbs moisture and is completely biodegradable. It is very durable both in dry and wet conditions. It has a low shrinkage rate. The result is a fabric that is very soft, durable, elastic, antibacterial, anti-dust mite, absorbent, thermoregulating, and, above all, skin-friendly.
